Students from Manyas Visited Our University Within the Scope of the D.O.S.T. Project
Within the scope of the D.O.S.T. (Solidarity, Joint Action, Social Society) Project initiated by the Governorship of Balıkesir, social responsibility and social contribution activities aimed at disadvantaged groups are being carried out at our University.
In this direction, in cooperation with the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Social Responsibility and Volunteerism Coordination Office and the Manyas District Directorate of National Education, students from the Manyas District Directorate of National Education visited our University as part of the social responsibility activities conducted for our Romani citizens.
The technical trip program, held on Friday, June 5, 2026, was organized with the aim of enabling students to get to know the university environment closely, increasing their academic motivation, supporting their social integration processes, and gaining awareness about higher education.
As part of the program, the students visited various academic and administrative units of our University and participated in several activities. First, our Central Library was introduced to the students, and they were informed about the library services. Then, they were shown around the Ship Simulator Laboratory within the Faculty of Maritime Studies, where the students were briefed on maritime education and simulation applications. Later in the program, an appropriately tailored exercise activity was organized for the students by the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
During the technical trip, the students had the opportunity to gather information about university life, academic units, social facilities, and professional development opportunities. The event contributed to the students getting to know higher education institutions more closely and gaining awareness regarding their future goals.
The event in question was carried out under the coordination of our Social Responsibility and Volunteerism Coordination Office. During the program, Manyas Vocational School academic staff member and Assistant Coordinator of the Social Responsibility and Volunteerism Coordination Office, Lecturer Coşkun KALP, accompanied the students, providing support for the coordination processes of the event.
In line with its social contribution policy, our University continues to carry out social contribution activities for disadvantaged groups in cooperation with public institutions and to contribute to the education, social cohesion, and personal development processes of the students.
